Authorities in Palm Beach County, Florida were making arrangements for a memorial to honor two sheriff’s office members who died in a crash, but were saddened to hear that a third member who was in critical condition had also passed away.

The upcoming memorial ceremony will pay tribute to the three deputies who lost their lives, with members of the community, officials, and fellow law enforcement officers coming together to grieve their passing just before Thanksgiving.

John Kazanjian, who serves as the president of the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association, expressed deep sadness during an interview on Monday. He mentioned that the entire P.B.S.O. organization has been significantly affected by a recent event, and they are struggling to cope with the situation as they are unsure of how it occurred.

Thursday morning, three deputies from the motorcycle unit – Cpl. Luis Paez, Deputy Ralph Waller, and Deputy Ignacio Diaz – were monitoring speeding vehicles on State Road 80. One of the deputies had trouble starting his motorcycle and initially believed the battery had died, as reported by Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.

The officers relocated the motorcycle from the road to a grassy area on the side, and were expecting another officer to arrive with jumper cables. Meanwhile, a woman in the center lane encountered a slow-moving vehicle, according to Sheriff Bradshaw.

The woman swerved to the right, made an excessive correction, and ended up driving off the road. This caused her to hit all three deputies, sending them flying into the air, as reported by Sheriff Bradshaw.
