President Biden visited Nantucket for the last time during his term, stopping at his usual spots to thank the progress made towards peace in the Middle East and encouraging Americans to remain optimistic.

Writing from the location of Nantucket, Massachusetts.
On Thursday morning, the president and the first lady visited Massachusetts as part of their usual Thanksgiving routine. They brought pumpkin pies to police officers, firefighters, and medics on Nantucket and also spoke with members of the armed services. This has been a family tradition for them since 1975.
On Thursday, when heavy rains were hitting the island, President Biden visited the Nantucket fire station and interacted with the officers on duty. He seemed happy as he greeted them, shook hands, and exchanged baseball caps. He was also accompanied by his grandson Beau during the visit.
The president spent some time thinking about the current political atmosphere in the United States and encouraged Americans to stay true to their values, avoid pessimistic viewpoints, and be mindful of what news they consume.
After reviewing recent public opinion polls that reveal most Americans are worried about the country’s direction, Mr. Biden suggested that this may be due to a decrease in viewership for traditional news outlets and overly negative reporting on television.
He suggested that there might be a reason for that. He explained that when you watch TV, there is not much positive news being shown.
The president remained positive amidst uncertainty and suggested that President-elect Donald J. Trump may face challenges in the future. He mentioned that Congress might push Mr. Trump to adjust some of his plans and also expressed some concerns about his successor’s recent ideas.
