Three individuals familiar with the situation have verified that a meeting took place between Mr. Zuckerberg and Mr. Trump. It was Mr. Zuckerberg who initiated the meeting, despite his strained relationship with Mr. Trump over the last ten years. Mr. Trump has frequently accused Meta of unfairly limiting him and other conservatives on its social media platforms. He has publicly criticized Mr. Zuckerberg on social media and during his public speeches.
Mark Zuckerberg arrived in West Palm Beach, Florida on Tuesday evening and met with Donald Trump at his hotel, Mar-a-Lago, on Wednesday. The meeting was kept confidential, but it was reported that the two men exchanged friendly greetings, with Zuckerberg congratulating Trump on his presidential victory.
Following their meeting in the early afternoon, Mr. Trump and Mr. Zuckerberg arranged to have dinner together at Mr. Trump’s hotel later in the evening, according to sources.
