President Biden has granted his son Hunter Biden a complete and unconditional pardon. This comes shortly before President Biden’s term ends and President-elect Donald J. Trump takes over. Trump has criticized Hunter Biden for his legal and personal problems for years.

President Biden decided to pardon his son Hunter on Sunday night, going back on his previous statements where he said he wouldn’t do so. This pardon clears Hunter of all legal issues, such as a federal conviction for purchasing a gun illegally and for tax evasion. Biden used his presidential authority to grant this pardon.

The White House released a statement from President Biden announcing his decision to grant clemency to his son for any offenses he may have committed between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024.

He explained that he decided to take action because he believed the accusations against Hunter were based on political bias and intended to damage his reputation in the political arena.

Mr. Biden claimed that the charges against his son were brought by his political rivals in Congress in an attempt to sabotage his candidacy. He believes that anyone who examines the details of Hunter’s cases would agree that he was targeted solely because of his relation to Mr. Biden, which is unjust.

He stated that there have been attempts to undermine Hunter, who has been sober for five and a half years, despite facing constant attacks and selective prosecution. The speaker believes that these attempts to harm Hunter are also aimed at him and fears that they will continue. He expresses that it is time for these actions to come to an end.

A man who had built his presidency and career on the principle of not interfering with the justice system experienced a significant change. In 2020 and again in 2024, he advocated for the removal of former President Donald J. Trump to uphold the independence of America’s democracy.
