Writing from the nation

President Biden decided to pardon his son Hunter on Sunday night, going back on his previous statements where he said he wouldn’t grant him clemency. By utilizing his presidential authority, Biden dismissed Hunter’s various legal issues, such as a federal gun purchasing conviction and tax evasion.

The White House released a statement where President Biden announced that he had chosen to grant clemency to his son for any offenses he may have been involved in between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024.

He explained that he chose to make the decision because he believed the accusations against Hunter were driven by political motives and intended to damage his reputation in the political arena

In a statement, Mr. Biden claimed that the charges against his son were initiated by his political opponents in Congress to undermine his campaign. He believes that anyone who examines the details of Hunter’s cases would agree that he was targeted because he is his son, which he deems unfair.

He stated that there has been an attempt to undermine Hunter, who has remained sober for five and a half years despite facing continuous attacks and biased prosecution. By targeting Hunter, they are also targeting him, and he believes this pattern may continue. He expressed that he has reached his limit and will not tolerate it any longer.

The man experienced a significant change in his beliefs and actions, considering he had always emphasized the importance of not influencing the justice system throughout his presidency and long career. In 2020 and again in 2024, he advocated for the removal of former President Donald J. Trump from office to uphold the independence of America’s democracy.
