On Sunday night, President Biden pardoned his son Hunter without any conditions, despite previously stating he wouldn’t do so. He used his presidential authority to dismiss Hunter’s legal issues, which included a federal gun purchase conviction and tax evasion charges.

The White House released a statement from President Biden announcing his decision to grant clemency to his son for any offenses he may have committed between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024.

He explained that he chose to make the decision because he believed the accusations against Hunter were driven by political motives and intended to harm him politically.

In a statement, Mr. Biden claimed that the charges against his son were brought forth by political opponents in Congress to discredit him and hinder his election campaign. He argued that when examining the facts of Hunter’s cases, it is clear that he was targeted solely because of his relationship to Mr. Biden, which is unjust.

He further stated that there have been attempts to undermine Hunter, who has remained sober for five and a half years despite facing continuous attacks and discriminatory prosecution. By targeting Hunter, they are also targeting him, and he believes the attacks will not cease. He expressed that the situation has reached a breaking point and needs to come to an end.

This man experienced a significant change in his beliefs and actions, considering his long career and presidency were based on the principle of not getting involved in legal matters. In 2020 and again in 2024, he advocated for the removal of former President Donald J. Trump from office to uphold the independence of America’s democracy.
