On Sunday, President-elect Donald J. Trump revealed his decision to appoint Massad Boulos, a Lebanese American businessman who is also the father of his daughter Tiffany’s spouse, as a senior adviser focusing on Arab and Middle Eastern matters.

This weekend, Mr. Trump offered a job in his administration to a family member for the second time. This offer came after he appointed Charles Kushner, who is Ivanka’s father-in-law, as the ambassador to France.

During an announcement, Mr. Trump commended Mr. Boulos for his business expertise and the support he provided to his presidential campaign, without mentioning their familial relationship.

"Mr. Trump praised Massad as a skilled lawyer and influential figure in the business community, particularly in international matters. Massad has a history of supporting Republican and Conservative values, making valuable contributions to Trump’s campaign and helping forge strong connections with the Arab American Community."

Prior to the recent election, Mr. Boulos was heavily involved in the Trump campaign, specifically targeting Arab American voters who were potentially dissatisfied with President Biden’s stance on Israel. Despite Trump’s pro-Israel policies during his first term, Mr. Boulos focused on garnering support for him within Arab American and Muslim communities in Michigan.

Mr. Boulos has acted as a bridge between Mr. Trump and leaders in the Middle East due to his relationship with the Trump family. He met with Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas in September during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. In July, he assisted in delivering a letter from Abbas to Trump, where Abbas wished Trump well following an assassination attempt.
