President Biden decided to pardon his son Hunter on Sunday night, despite previously saying he wouldn’t. This pardon clears Hunter of all legal issues, such as a federal conviction for gun possession and tax evasion. Biden used his presidential power to make this decision.
The White House released a statement in which President Biden announced his decision to grant his son executive clemency for any offenses he may have committed or been involved in between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024.
He explained that he decided to take action because he believed the accusations against Hunter were driven by political motives with the intention of causing harm to him politically.
In a statement, Mr. Biden claimed that the charges against his son Hunter were brought forward by some of his political rivals in Congress to harm his reputation and hinder his chances of winning the election. He believes that anyone who examines the facts of Hunter’s cases would see that he was targeted solely because of his relationship to Mr. Biden, which he believes is unfair.
He further stated that there has been a deliberate attempt to undermine Hunter, who has maintained sobriety for over five years despite facing constant attacks and unfair prosecution. By targeting Hunter, they are also trying to target him, and he believes this pattern of behavior will continue. He strongly believes that this mistreatment has gone on long enough.
This man experienced a significant change in his beliefs and actions, considering his previous commitment to not influencing the justice system during his presidency and long career. In 2020 and 2024, he advocated for removing former President Donald J. Trump from office in order to uphold the independence of America’s democracy.
