Donald J. Trump, who has been elected as the President, is collecting funds for his inauguration. The funds are being raised by asking for donations as high as $2 million, as shared by sources involved in organizing the inauguration events.

A promotional flyer called "Trump Vance Inaugural Committee Benefits" outlines the advantages of donating $1 million or raising $2 million for the event. Donors who achieve this high level of contribution will receive up to six tickets to eight inaugural events taking place between January 17th and January 20th.

Following a contentious election, individuals and companies often contribute significant funds to presidential inaugural committees to show their support for the new president and to gain favor with the incoming administration. Donations to the Trump committee have no set limit, as it is classified as a political nonprofit for tax reasons, but any gifts over $200 are reported to the Federal Election Commission.

Notable events for top donors and fundraisers include a reception with cabinet nominees, a dinner with Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife on Jan. 18, and a special dinner with President Donald J. Trump and Mrs. Melania Trump on Jan. 19, being labeled as the main event. Prior to the release of this information, Mrs. Trump had not yet confirmed her attendance at the inauguration events, including a Sunday interfaith service that both she and Mr. Trump are said to be attending.

Big donors will be given six tickets each to attend the inauguration on Monday, Jan. 20.

The initial committee responsible for organizing Mr. Trump’s first inauguration raised $107 million in 2016 and 2017, but faced scrutiny from federal prosecutors due to potential illegal foreign donations. One donor received a 12-year prison sentence as a result of this investigation. The current inaugural committee is now headed by Steven Witkoff, a wealthy real estate mogul who has contributed almost $2 million to Mr. Trump’s political campaigns in the last ten years. Kelly Loeffler, a former Republican senator from Georgia, is also involved in leading the committee. Additionally, Witkoff has been appointed as a special envoy to the Middle East.

Donald Trump is still collecting funds for his political activities. He will be the main speaker at an event on December 19 at his private club in Florida, Mar-a-Lago, organized by a pro-Trump super PAC called MAGA Inc. Tickets for the event are priced at $1 million per person, as stated in an invitation obtained by The New York Times.
