Is it possible for Trump to put an end to birthright citizenship? It may not be a simple task. The president-elect has expressed his desire to eliminate the automatic granting of citizenship to individuals born in the United States. However, he may face challenges in doing so due to the restrictions imposed by the Constitution

The discussion of eliminating birthright citizenship has resurfaced due to President-elect Donald J. Trump. This guarantee, which has been established in common law and the Constitution for over 150 years, grants automatic American citizenship to anyone born in the United States.
In a televised interview on Sunday, Mr. Trump stated that they would need to make changes and possibly consult with the public to end the situation.
During the interview, Mr. Trump did not provide clear details on his plans for when he becomes president. He previously brought up the issue during his first term but did not follow through with any major actions.
This is the information you should be aware of regarding birthright citizenship and the possibility of the president ending it.
Is birthright citizenship protected by the Constitution? Absolutely. According to the 14th Amendment, individuals who are born or naturalized in the United States and are under its jurisdiction automatically become citizens of both the United States and the state in which they live.
The aspect of jurisdiction contains a limited exception that currently only pertains to children of recognized foreign diplomats. Apart from this, the citizenship or immigration status of a person’s parents has not been found to impact this right in any way.
