SOTY2: Tiger Shroff, Alia Bhatt’s Hook Up Song To Come Up Today

Tiger Shroff and Alia Bhatt’s The Hook Up Song is set to roll on the stage today. The duo is coming together for the first time in the Student of the Year 2 song. The two “students” are prepared to set the stage on fire with their dance floor and the music charts. And we are eagerly waiting for it.

But before the song takes over clubs and radios in the country, we hear an interesting tale behind the making of the song. As per report, Alia’s Hook Up Song has a fascinating connection with a hit song featuring her beau Ranbir Kapoor.

Director Punit Malhotra revealed that the new SOTY song took a cue from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s Break Up Song. “We took the cue from there, and that’s where the hook up idea came from,” he said. The Hook Up Song is penned by Kumaar, who has written songs like Zero’s Heer Badnaam featuring Katrina Kaif and Tera Yaar Hoon Main from Kartik Aaryan’s Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety to name a few.  Vishal-Shekar have composed the music.

“When I spoke to Alia, she said, ‘I will rehearse non-stop.’ She was already juggling two films at that time. But she gave her 200 per cent to this song,” Punit shared. “The thought of getting one of the ex-students back in this film was the germ for it. So, we started building on it,” he added.

The song is set in a house party. Alia and Tiger shared the glimpses of the upcoming song over the weekend.

SOTY has already released two songs: The Jawaani Song and Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan. Student of the Year 2 is all set to release on May 10. The movie features Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria in the lead. Are you excited about the movie? Let us know in the comments below.

The film based on the underground rap culture of Mumbai has put up consistently well at the box office from the very first day.

It is being conjectured that if it continues its pace, Gully Boy will enter the Rs 100 crore club on day 8.

The film garnered rave reviews for its depiction of a Muslim rapper (played by Singh) who faces immense class struggle while looking for the right opportunity to propel his musical career. It is loosely based on the lives of rappers DIVINE and Naezy. The film has also become Singh’s second biggest opener with Simmba ranking first with 20.73 crore. Meanwhile, Uri: The Surgical Strike is still earning big bucks at the box office, even on the sixth week of its release. The film amassed Rs 229.77 crore on Wednesday, and is expected to cross Rs 230 crores at the domestic box office by Thursday.

Gully Boy Reviews, Read What International Media Has To Say About The Duo Stars

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy recntly had its world premier held at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival. Zoya Akhtar’s this movie saw a huge amount of audience in the auditorium with a sound applause from media all over the world.

Jay Weissberg of Variety said that the chemistry between Ranveer and Alia was one of the “joys” of Gully Boy. “Her ironic smile meets his open-faced grin and the screen lights up,” he wrote.

“A Bollywood movie about a rapper from the slums may sound derivative, but what does that matter when Gully Boy revels in high-wattage screen chemistry and an inclusive social message, all served up in a slickly enjoyable production showcasing Ranveer Singh’s many charms? Zoya Akhtar’s most accomplished film to date is a mainstream rap musical about a Muslim guy from working-class Mumbai determined to break free from the strictures of expectation and class, all served up with generous helpings of deftly written hip-hop lyrics and a largely well-woven narrative that’s so likable one can almost forgive how the script barely bothers to resolve an important plot element,” the review read.

Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian gave it 3 out of 5 stars and said that “there is storytelling gusto and fun in this Mumbai-set romantic drama teetering cheerfully on the edge of camp”. In his review, he wrote, “In the end, Gully Boy runs on very traditional lines, and maybe comes too close to cliche, but is always engagingly dead set on entertainment.”

Deborah Young of The Hollywood Reporter wrote in her review, “Zoya Akhtar (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) directs with flair and passion and, aided by explosive performances from a right-on cast, triumphs over the familiarity of the star-is-born storyline. Her main asset is Ranveer Singh, who broke into Bollywood with the rom com Band Baajat Baaraat and who here shows a pleasingly full emotional range that extends to drama and hip hop. With his hair combed over his eyes and noticeably muscle-bound, he is heroic but mild-mannered, rarely exceeding the sphere of believability. Lending strong backup are Alia Bhatt (Raazi) as his volatile love interest Safeena and Siddhant Chaturvedi in the role of his rap guru and pal Sher.”

Gully Boy is about Murad (Ranveer), a rapper from the slums of Mumbai, who wants to rise above his socio-economic status to become a star. Despite being discouraged over and over again, he manages to take the underground rap scene by storm. The film is inspired by the life of underground rappers Divine and Naezy.

Produced by Tiger Baby Productions and Excel Entertainment, Gully Boy also features Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Raaz, Amruta Subhash and Siddhant Chaturvedi in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to open in theatres on February.

Gully Boy Stars Ranveer Singh & Alia Bhatt Head To The Berlin Film Festival

After having a bang- on Bollywood year 2018, actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are all set for their first- ever collaboration. The duo are currently busy promoting their upcoming Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The story revolves around the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy.

Interestingly, the upcoming musical drama will soon have a special screening at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival and recently Ranveer and Alia were seen jetting off for the same.

During their recent spotting, both Ranveer and Alia were seen channelling their inner rappers. While the Simmba star was seen donning red coloured joggers and a red hoodie jacket along with white sneakers and funky sunnies, the 25-year-old actress looked chic in a black crop jacket which she teamed up with black baggy pants.

Gully Boy Up Next, Alia Bhatt Turns Into The Brightest Shining Star Of The Fashion World

The actor might be one of the youngest leading ones of the present day Bollywood but she definitely has made a special place for herself in the hearts of public and the hits lists of the box office.  Her coming up film Gully Boy with co- star Ranveer Singh has already created a buzz in the town. It seems the fans are eagerly waiting for the film to release.

But almost two weeks ahead of the film’s release, Alia has turned into the brightest shining star of the fashion world with her latest sartorial choice. The actor, who is busy with the promotion of Gully Boy  with Ranveer, had to appear on The Kapil Sharma Show tonight. Alia decided to sport a sequin cropped jacket paired with matching pants with sheer grace and elan.

She was styled by Garima Garg while her makeup was done by Puneet B Saini. The actor opted for minimalist makeup and kept her tresses open. She struck just the right poses for the camera and well, Alia’s fashion choice definitely deserves a thumbs up from the fashion connoisseurs across the country.

If her outfits are class and her photos a treat for sore eyes, so are Alia’s captions. While she captioned one of the photos as “palat”, she borrowed Coldplay’s much-loved song “Up & Up” as the caption for the other!

Post Gully Boy, Alia Bhatt will star in Kalank co-starring Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapur. She will then feature in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra alongside her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. Alia also has Karan Johar’s multi-starrer Takht alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in key roles.
